I also tried the ferrite filters. They did not work...

I just switch the stock headlight to HD's LED Daymaker on my SG. I tried the radio and all functions are working, but no sound. The radio was working prior to the headlamp switch. Now you got me wondering. I finally took the radio out and sent it to Iron Cross Audio to diagnosis it.

for about a year ive been reading up on radio reception cause my bike lost all...finally started the processes from all the hours of reading i did this winter. btw big amp and led was on my list of possible issues...

first action, start pullin parts off the bike...and hour and 1/2 later all good. even the hard to pick up channels came back.

antenna cable had MYSTERIOUSLY SELF DESTRUCTED . Right on the spot where it lays on the bottom of the inside of the tour pack. 12$ new cable had on hand...

last fall the only thing i had tried was using a small internal antenna to compare but that I guess was almost as bad.

what year bike?

This issue is common with the Truck Lite. Is that what you put in?

I had the truck lite in first. Switched to the bulb sold by DK customs. Same problem. Truck lite told me they had heard of no problems like I was having. Changing out the antenna wire seems to have helped....

Edit; Oh and coincidently check the antenna co-ax cable right behind the fairing in front of the fuel tank where the factory zip-tie is too tight, Nearly cut mine in half.
I had the same reception problem after an LED conversion on the headlight on my 08 Ultra Classic. Installed the RadioShack ferrite choke on the LED bulb wire before it plugged into the main harness, looping the wire through the filter. Did the trick!

By the way, I have the hidden antenna mounted behind the batwing. I moved the antenna block away from the headlight per the H-D instructions, but I still got the reception issue. So, the ferrite filter was the final solution!

Thanks for the suggestion here to use it.

I had the same issue. Picked up a pair of ferrite chokes for the road glide, and it works fine now.

No problem with the radio's reception after installing the HD Daymaker LED headlamp.
