Since I'm relatively new to this forum, and couldn't find a thread of this topic in a search, I thought what the heck!

How about a list of "Don't ask me how I know's"? I'll give you a couple of the thousands of bonehead things I've done that involve my bikes. Feel free to jump in.

1. After parking your bike in a tight spot on a hundred degree day while wearing shorts, don't climb off the high side. Don't ask me how I know, and I've got the burn scars to prove it.

2. Don't wax your bike while wearing your wrist watch with the metal band. Don't ask me how I know, and my bike has the scars to prove it.

Just make us a list, seems like you have done all the things we dont want to ask about before

 

Too many dead brain cells to remember all of them, but here's one I do remember.

If the odd noise coming from within the fairing on your Road Glide sounds like a mouse,,, it might be. "Don't ask me how I know, and don't ask me how I discovered what it was.

 

When filling up your bike and you drop the gas cap and it rolls under the bike, don't reach under it at a 45 degree angle to retrieve it, go in very low, 1" off the ground and straight, don't ask me how i know, i know, i have the 3rd degree burn scar on my left arm to prove it. [:@]

 

do not push your bike in the garage that has a two inch lip at the garage door---just ride it in---don't ask me how I know.

do not attempt to high five your riding partner while sitting on your bike---you may miss his hand and you know what happens next---don't ask me how I know.

 

When Duckwalking your Ultra .... Don't decide to get off of it (having to sling your leg high because of back seat/tour-pak) and finish pushing it uphill without first engaging the Jiffy stand. Don't ask me how I know ....

 

Empty the remaining fuel in the hose at the gas station on the ground before trying to fill your tank. Don't ask me how I know......

 

When fueling your RG, don't put the cap on to of the pump because maybe you will leave it there. Don't ask me how I know

 

Yea that one I knew lol..and I cup my hand under the pump when I'm done filling it to catch any drips.

 

Don't unlock the sterring shaft on an 05 softailbefore putting in gear and taking off.....ask me how I know
