Caution! Excessive lean angle!

learned this the hard way on my brand new 2016 RGU, the riders board bracket touches first. By the time you feel the board move it's too late you've already high centered.
A friend of mine bought a 15 CVO ultra, he bitched about the curb feelers on the bottom of the boards. Now I know why the were there. Seems odd they wouldn't include feelers on all the rushmores.
Nothing hurt other than my pride and nice scar on the corner of a bag guard.

A lot of riders install the kits that move out the floorboards. I've often wondered what effect that has on what parts scrape first. I've had my Ultra down on both sides. The driver floorboards tipped up, and the bike rested on the crash bar. If the floorboards are moved out, it looks like their brackets would dig in before the crash bar would touch.

This is the exact same as my Streetglide. I've got the stock (air stream) boards in the stock location, and Rush header. Scrapes on the back mount (which is the same as the FLHTK even though the boards are different) and all down the head pipe. When I had the stock pipe on it didn't hit, but the Rush does.
This also means it's not a weight distribution or shock setting issue, as I ride solo 99% of the time, and I have the hand adjustable shocks, not the air shocks...
I just try to keep it in mind and not push it that far over....doesn't always work

ya, I'd have to second this. I used to scrape the hell outta the fatboy. So much so, we have gone down in a left hand turn on a wet, muddy turn.
Now with the Ultra, I've never scraped, and If my lean angle goes too far, i get a set of claws in my ribs to remind me. I HATE THAT. she's clawing and I'm hollering "stop it! stop it!"

Bone stock 16 road glide ultra, 40 PSI in the rear shocks. Riders board brackets touch before the boards solo or 2 up. Exhaust has never touched.
The 13 street glide I could smash my foot between the board and engine. That was my feeler gauge used the boards to gauge how much lean I had left.
On the 16 I thought I just wasn't leaning the bike to it's limit until I went and played in a parking lot, I tried to turn the bike inside the diameter of a pigeons sphincter. the scrape started and I just kept digging harder, never felt board move until the rear tire was already off the ground.
