The antenna was never in the way before. Now it is run up along the frame because I installed the king tour pack. I also installed the CB module and J&M hidden CB antenna in the fairing. So no antennas showing on the back of the bike anymore.

How is that J&M hidden CD antenna working out. I was thinking of trying it, but a couple of shops told me the performance would be worse than what you get with the whip antennas. Signal strength with the stock antennas is bad already.

Moco sells antenna relocation kits for couple locations one can be install on the bottom of the saddle bags for CB or radio. You can just remove it unless you listen to the radio, I haven't used my radio yet only use Media player or the phone via blue tooth.

Mine was relocated along the underside of the left saddlebag attached to the bracket pointed towards the front to make room for my tour pack mounting points on a 05 with SG fender. But I just installed a hogtenna in the fairing, seems to work ok. Make sure to get a 12v connection. I 99% of the time play music from a iPhone anyways.

I bought the 12" $8.95 antenna from Advance Auto for my SGS. Works & looks fine.

I put the shorter antenna on right after I picked up the bike. Now with a stereo upgrade and amp, my reception has suffered but it's worth the trade off. I've got satellite radio or a USB with 3,000 songs to flip through. Otherwise, the tour bag and saddlebags will hold enough stuff to last 2 or 3 weeks.
