Windshields 2016 Road Glide

Freedom shields make a nice touring shield, and a nice sport touring shield I'm told. LRS also seems popular with their latest offering, and Cee Bailey is around as well.
I went with a freedom shield touring model (partly because that was all they had available). I was happy enough with it to order a second one when I changed my seat and needed a taller shield.

There are other Road Glide windshields. None as good as Madstad:

Call John at Freedom Shields and tell him your height and inseam measurements. He'll recommend the size w/s you need and whether you'd be better off with the new sport model or the original model, depending on how you use the bike. Top quality stuff and its returnable if you don't like it, or you decide you want to go larger or smaller. I get asked about mine all the time.

I just got a new FLTRU myself and am working through selecting a windshield too. Roadglide.org has a lot of information about this subject. As others have suggested, Freedom Shields has an excellent reputation for service and quality. I'm going to be trying a 14" Windvest that my dealer has before I go that route. Also, Long Ride Shields have just come out with two models, Stingray and Thresher. Price on the new LRS are really good right now, half that of KW or Freedom. Go over to Roadglide.org and do some reading and see what you come up with. I don't mind the stock one at all but my wife says it is windier than the Ultra Classic, that's why I'm looking to try something else.

I have gone through a few shields until I found the one that works best for me.
I have ridden with:
Stock shield: - not too bad but very noisy
12" Freedom dark tint - directed the air right at my eyes
15" Klock Werks pro touring - was great except the top of the shield was in my line of site
14" Klock Werks Sport shield - same as the freedom shield, wind hit me right in the eyes
12" Klock Werks pro touring - PERFECT FOR ME
Just a note for you, KW worked through all the shields with me, and let me exchange them until I got one I was happy with. There are no dealers close to me that do the KW demo program. But they do have many dealers that will let you try before you buy.
Freedom shields will exchange shields if you leave the protectective coating on. So they will treat you right too. I bought mine used, so I didn't have this option.
As you know, HD has demo shields as well, but the choices are limited, and I personally don't like the looks of them.
2 other things to consider adding is the crash bar deflectors (they mak a big difference in wind noise), and the kuryakyn tree mounted deflector helps some too. Both are realitivly cheap.
For reference, I am 6' with a 30" inseam (long torso)
Hope this helps & good luck with you search.

Take a look at Long Ride Shields, I ordered one for my 2015 RG and it looks good. Good quality and the price was unbeatable!
http://www.longrideshields.com/
They had a sale on at the time and I just checked the website which says the sale is still on! Can't beat that price!
They will also take the shield back and exchange it for a different size/style so long as the protective plastic has not been removed.
I recommend these guys!
