Default Just bought a 2008 Street Glide, When Braking It's Not Smooth...Warped Rotors?

I just picked up a 2008 Street Glide with 12,500 miles on it for $11,500. Good Deal? Bike is mint.

Anyways, when pulling the front brakes while riding, the braking action is not smooth at all, feels like warped rotors pulsating.

I took the calipers off, inspected all the brake pads, lightly sanded them smooth, and took a scotch bright pad and brake cleaner to the front rotors, put it all back together and same thing is happening.

Must be rotors?

Once, when I changed tires I put a bit too much pressure on a rotor. Acted just like a warped rotor feels. I put a dial indicator on it and it was tweaked. I used giant channel locks and trued the rotor. I now have 120k on it and still smooth as glass. Put a dial indicator on them and see for yourself, then decide whether to straighten or replace

my `06 "bunny-hops" actually bounces, think it`s the fork oil,( low in one fork) had a leak and Indy shop tightened upper fork bolt, but I don`t think he filled it back up. had similar issue on my softail that leaked from seal.

I used adjustable wrench over two pieces of steal. Nice little pull in the low spot went from .015 to .005 both rotors on front.

I had one of the fronts warp at 30k on my 09. I just replaced both fronts.

First thing to do is make sure all 4 pistons are pushing the pads.
At 35K on my 05 Ultra I replaced my rotors, I was dumb, I went cheap and bought solid rotors again.
I can hear it just start again.
New pads and floating rotors are on the docket this year.

You may have to extend the pistons, clean up the exposed and make sure they're all working.

Tha chaps above have covered the likely problem, but if you bought from a dealer, have a word with them.
