In the beginning, I used to shift my weight to lean the bike on turns. Then I "realized" how easy the bike leaned during countersteering. It took a while. At the Rider's course they tell you the technique, but I think you don't really learn & apply it until you are on your own bike.

Highspeed emergency procedures such as quick stops and lane changes are important but just as important is low speed maneuvers.

Check out the crash pics in this months Motorcyclist magazine.I never realized that if you happen to be draggin the floorboards to the point of scrapin the crash bars the endresult is you go down in a hurry.The front crash bars lever the tires off the road.Not something I want any time soon
