I have used 409, but now I just stick with what comes in the recharge package.
I say don't try to blow it dry with a hose, could damage or put thin spots in the media.
Lay it in the sun for a while, or over a vent, let it dry on it's own.
Not too much oil, you will get the hang of it.
Pollen season is full blast down here right now, I plan to clean mine again as soon as that slacks off.
