I had an avon cobra on the rear for about an hour. It ballooned so bad on the dyno that it started rubbing the swing arm. Went with the Dunlop d402 200/55/18 and it has treated me well. Got around 6k out of the last one with a fair amount of dyno time. Im expecting close to 8k out of this one.

I've had my Avon WWW for about a year now and am very happy with them. Wet, dry, different road surfaces they are very stable and grip well. I haven't experienced the longevity yet though.

IMO, with any tire, different people will get different results on the same tire. And as someone mentioned, you average them out and you'll get close to the mfg stated claim.

I have had the newer Avon made for touring bikes on for 10K I think I will see 15K with it. I am shocked because I use to run the older ones on my Lowrider and was lucky to see 7K. I rider mostly 2up on my '07SG

Just put Cobras on this week, first ride was impressive compared to the stock dunlops. Stealer originally put the front tire on with the incorrect rotation. At least they apologized when they made it right.

That surprises me. I'm passing 12,000 on my RKC and bet I can get another 3-5K out of them. I guess it might depend on the condition of the roads as well...

I've got Avon Cobra's on my RK, only 4K but wearing well so far. I'm very pleased with performance and willing to loose some life for how well these stick.
I'd follow Avon's pressure recommendations, which are higher than used on factory Dunlops.

The 12 is 75% 2 up and loaded. Just had a new set sent to my house front and rear 239 dollars 13 bucks for balance beads .......on my way for another 15,000. I hope! Lol. Have them on the 98 ultra also and it gets the crap beat out if it almost everyday till I just pulled it a part. 12,000 on them but it runs the smaller 16/130. Not cupped but close to being used up. Maybe another 2500-3000 left.
But tires are like oil. Ask 15 guys. You will get 15 answers. But tire pressure is BIG.
Spend as much on a gauge as u would any safety device.

Plus 1 on the above quote...
Whatever gauge you have, here is a good tip,, Take your gauge, (at least once a year), to a tire workshop and and compare the accuracy of your gauge with their calibrated workshop gauge... you know the old saying,, "oils aint oils" ,,, well gauges anit gauges..... You just may be suprised with the inaccuracy of that gauge you have had in your garage all these years !!
