I experienced the same thing on my EGC, years ago.

The HD air deflectors (similar to freedom wings) that mount to the lower three screws on your inner fairing will resolve 90% of that problem!

Went out to my brothers yesterday, from Katy to Shepherd Tx, 165 miles, 46 Miles Per Gal.. This is a Strait Freeway Run, at 70 75 (65 thru Patton Village) I got the same uneasy feeling at 70+, at 65 it was OK... But I had to use 5th Gear... 6th lugged.
Also the 10" shield may have to go, I installed 2" Pull back bars and it's got me sitting up more so know I'm getting buffering at the top of my helmet.. kinda hard on the neck... Has anyone used a taller windscreen on a SG? just for long trips?

If the 10" is the right height, try a Clearview with recurve (http://www.clearviewshields.com/shop/product.php?id=11). The recurve effectively adds another 2" of height to the shield by redirecting the air higher. I have an 8" on mine and it works great.

Also as I pulled up to the garage and let it idle, seemed it was running a bit crappy, Over heat? Need to change plugs? (5100miles)
This also happened on a return trip from Austin, Seemed a bit rough running as I was lifting the garage door...
Describe "rough." Running on one cylinder?

Well I hate to say running on one, just running eratic.. the next morning, I satarted it up and it was fine..
I think next oil change i'm going to something besides HD Oil... In the Crankcase.. Any suggestions hehehe...

I will go out on a limb and say, I used to use Kendal 50 and had good luck with it.. It's not multigrade but it quieted the
wing down a lot... It's an old product, but my Dad Swore by it, in his old HydraGlide...

You may want to consider a Cee Bailey's super step contour windshield also...never experienced a smoother air pocket than with this windshield.
