Default Silicone or Gasket sealer on breather bolts?

Tech recommended against using silicone or gasket sealer on breather bolts saying engine heat will just cause it to liquify and run out. Install instructions say to use it to provide a good bond with 18ft lbs of torque. Being hollow they will twist or break easily if over tightened...any suggestions as to which is the right answer?

if you use a silicone anywhere on your bike make sure it is sensor safe.

my breather bolts on various models have never required any sealer...that's what the o rings are for.

I used silicone gasket maker on the breather bolts on my previous bike when I changed out the intake. I put thousands of miles on it before selling the bike. The silicone never liquified and you could still see it poking out. Just use a high temp silicone from a autoparts store.

When I installed the PM intake on my bike it said to use blue medium strength loctite.

Thanks fo the replies. It's a Hammer high flow and they suggested the silicone/gasket sealer. Normally I'd go with the tech advice, but Hammer seems to know their stuff usually. Was having concerns reconciling the two viewpoints. High temp silicone seems like a good answer. Blue loctite is for sure going on the internal assembly bolts. Thanks all.

Use the silicon. The dealer tech just got out of school.

I would only use blue loctite. If dead set on alternative then use high temp thread paste. Silicone will be a disaster when you need to pull it

Permatex makes a sensor safe (500*f) and high temp (600*f) gasket sealer. Both are silicone. Is there a better product? What is the right high temp non-silicone paste? Will it be sensor safe? If I go with blue loctite won't the heat be an issue or does it require higher temps? I know with red loctite heat is the main agent used to weaken it when removing the bolts....

What will the silicone do to make removal worse?
