Default Removing cable from switch housing

Replacing cables on my 01 FLH. Throttle side went OK. I can not get the idle cable loose from the switch housing. I have put a drop of oil on it, and tried wiggling it as I did with the throttle cable to no avail. It is plenty loose in the housing just wont pull out. How should it be done, without damaging the housing?

Thanks,

Don't know, but would love to hear the answer, as I too am about to change my cables. I have noticed while changing grips that one comes out easily, while the other one is firmly seated in switch housing. Anyone?

You have to loosen the lock nut and turn the adjusting **** to loosen up the cable. Then you have to remove the pin in the clutch lever to free up the lever. That is the only way that I know that you can do it. To remove the clip on the pin, you have to use needle nose pliers. Be very careful not to loose that clip.

There is a video showing how to do it on utube.

Hope this helps

Finally got it loose and out. Firm pressure to pull it down as far as possible first, then gentle side to side pressure will get it to pop out. Just had to step back and think about it for a while first.
