I believe Road Glides came without the rear crash bars. Look one up on line or go to your dealer and see what the parts guy can find. My son added the crash bars to his Road Glide, he had less objection to the extra trim than to destroying the saddle bag if the machine went down. Your preference obviously runs in a different direction.

I was trying to see if an option was available... My mind still isnt made up if Im wanting to eliminate or not. I do like the added protection. Plus having a place to put my guard rail bag for a little extra storage is nice... I guess powder coating it will help make it blend in a little better.

Hell maybe Im missing something here.. Can I just take the bag guard off? I haven't looked at it with my schedule being as hectic as it has been recent, Not to mention the bike has been down for 2 months for powder coat.

That front hoop is part of the saddlebag lower rail mount.
You can't just take off the guard (hoop) without using something like that lower mount piece found in those ebay links. Nice btw. Cheap too.

Those are the exact one's I ended up buying to fit my '09 RK...Didn't care for the bag guards anymore. Going to be adding the extended side covers...

When I did mine I purchased a piece that replaced The guard portion and kept the bottom rail. Fairly inexpensive
