Default POLL: "Touring" BREMBO Caliper UPGRADE - USING Original Master or Brembo?

Upgrading the 2000-2007 Brake Calipers to 2008-later Brembos is common. Some additionally change the Master while others re-use the Original. The Stated Results Vary and are sprinkled around the Forum. Central Point Accumulation and Access is my goal.

That's not enough options! I'm upgrading my 1990 Glide and will be using my stock master cylinders, front and rear, with DOT5, after flushing the calipers. I've seen enough about this conversion to be happy - at present!

"More options? We don't need no stinkin' more options!"

I'm not sure I can edit the POLL portion even if I wanted to (without a Mod's "help" that is)

But if I could, I might just change #5 to: "Haven't Upgraded Anything Yet - But Want To change One or Both"

That would cover you

I'm pullin' your leg! But there are a few Evo owners who have skipped a few generations when upgrading our brakes.

Switched to Brembo's front and rear and kept the stock 2001 masters and levers, many claim you need to switch them as well, seems to work fine.I did it over the winter as well as changing tires and wheels, swingarm and bushings so no valid way of comparing before and after.Has anyone one done a true measured test under controlled conditions to see if the braking is improved(or not) with the changed parts or do most just offer their opinions with no data to back it up.

Red face

Data? Backup? Good grief - much more a case of "do I like the results of my handiwork!" I doubt if many of us have access to the equipment that can measure tangible results.

Forgot to mention...the following Official Instrumentation should be used for all measurements to be considered valid.

"Seats of the Pants"...Baby... "Seats of the Pants"
