Default Radio static when turning ?

2006 street glide, stock radio, stubby antenna. Whenever I turn my bars at a stop, my radio reception cuts out. Any ideas how to fix it. The antenna wire in the fairing seems solid, so im not sure what's causing it

I'd start by ruling out broken fairing brackets & subsequently rubbing wires. Had a similar situation on my '08.

Did you actually pull the fairing off and check the antenna plug in the back of the radio?

Any electrical mods, like extended handlebar wiring (for apes)? Lift the front wheel off the ground, so you can easily turn the bars and experiment with the radio switched on and jiggling the wiring etc. Many electrical problems are actually mechanical, caused by things such as a pinched or damaged wire, loose connector (as Ken above suggests).
