Default 2008 flhr rear fender swap?

I looked through the forums and say a few posts...but I'm still confused. Can I swap out my rear fender and add a new fender with filler panels? Or do I just need a fender extension with filler panels. Also if I need a new fender what years will fit my bike 2008 and earer? Or is the a later model fender that will work?

Have this...

Really want this look if possible...

Thanks for the help!

Need a new fender. 09 and later are fat tire swing arm. You will need pre 08.

To put the SG fascia on that fender, you will to drill holes on each side to mount the fascia. You'll also have to fill the hole where your fender tip light mounts. And if your wanting to go with that same set up, you'll need to fill in the hole where your taillight assembly mounts. You will have a small fortune in doing those modifications to your stock fender. You should look for a 06-08 SG fender or a raw steel fender that will help in your direction or you could go custom and get a fender from Baddad, BaggerNation or Dirty Bird Concepts. There are many companies offer rear fenders for your bike. Yaffe has a CVO style for the 08 and earlier models, it's very pricey. Good luck with your journey and please post picture when done. Here's a picture of my 05 Eglide Standard with a SG rear fender and fascia. 2008 flhr rear fender swap?-photo965.jpg

That looks perfect to me...so just look for 2008 street glide rear fender with fascia?

Yes 06-08 will work. I got a price last year from a local HD dealer for a new painted SG fender for $850.00. So you might check your local dealer if you can't find a used one, check ebay and craigslist. This is how mine looked before I changed it. I added the SG taillight assembly and the chrome fender extension.

Talking

That's an imaginative solution, if a bit expensive! Glad you solved things.
