I just ordered a 16 RGU and when they were first introduced I too was surprised that they released the RGU for $700 less than the EG Ultra Limited, but lacking chrome wheels, painted fairing, heated grips, and CB...

I agree with the poster above, it almost seems like they did it to intentionally leave a gap for a RG Ultra Limited. I debated on waiting, but I decided that considering I'd be changing the wheels anyway, I ordered mine with agitator wheels, added CB, added heated grips and made it my own. Dealer said ship date is the 28th so I'm waiting patiently....

When the sun goes down in the desert, and the ride home takes me over the mountains, those heated grips heat up nicely and keep my hands warm even when wearing fingerless gloves. I couldn't see trying to operate my handlebar controls with bulky heated gloves.

LOVE my heated grips. I wear snowmobile gloves, which have a thin palm with excellent grip, and more insulated back. I've worn these gloves with heated grips on my sled down to 20 BELOW zero, Fahrenheit

Dealer quoted me $269 for the grips plus 2.5hrs @ $99/hr. I passed on that and spent ~$750 on 2 heated jacket liners, 2 pair of gloves and 2 controllers....all of which I will keep when it's time to trade up to a newer bike.
