Powder coat is basically plastic. I have found from my experience to get a powder clear over parts more prone to elements and debris. I never had that issue when I did my dyna sliders but I used caution and non chlorinated brake clean.

Oh no there's no trying to polish it out. I spray them down good and it made it pretty darn gummy I'm going to have to have this one redone. I'll post a pic of it here in just a little bit let you guys see what brake cleaner will do to powder coat.
Powder coating is the most durable way to paint. That's why John Dere uses it. I think you got hosed on a standard paint job.

Guard. I have sprayed them accidentally with bc and it did make them dull, but I was able to polish out to get them shining again just like new...

That's kinda what I was thinking. But then I just talked to another guy that does powder coating and he told me the same thing that brake cleaner will eat up the powder coat
