I had the 7" windsplitter and went over to the 10" windsplitter. I had to switch since it was too low and the rain drops coming off the 7" would hit me right in the eyes. No problem with the 10".

Thanks for the replies guys. I found one via online from a supplier in Florida not too far from me. Harley wants $164.95 for theirs, and I got one shipped for only $50. Same identical 7" shield. (new). Figure if I don't like it, I can always sell it.

She shouldn't be worried, the safer barrier is there to lessen the impact!

I started off with LRS shields in the beginning. I bought the 7 in recurve first and didn't notice hardly any difference between that and the stock tiny wind deflector. So then I bought the LRS Ultra recurve. It did great as far as deflecting wind but it als bounced around in the wind so to speak. Lots of movement as it wasn't very rigid. So I put the stock wind deflector back on until I found a good deal on a 7 inch Harley wind splitter. I put that on and never looked back. For me, it is the best "compromise " as it does help with the wind, doesn't move at all, and looks way better than a taller shield. I don't worry about the light distortions because I look over the shield instead of through it. I also ride on a Brawler solo seat so I'm lower and further back on the bike which probably helps.

I have those LRS shields for sale on here if you're interested.
