Default Higher bars on an Ultra/Limited

I would like to install bars that are higher than stock.....on a budget. Has anyone installed bars that are more comfortable than stock, and avoided replacing the clutch cable and brake line to the ABS module? I guess what I'm asking is how high can I go and not have to crack the brake line and replace clutch cable. I don't mind extending wires.

Don't do bars if you can't afford ones that fit you. Waste of money.

Unless you can go all the way and get the bars you want, don't do anything. You'll regret the cheep route. You can't gain much without changing cables and brake lines.

Don't know what your expectation is but if you are just looking for 2" higher and 2" pullback, Kromewerks sweeper 2+2 bars can be installed with just a longer clutch cable.

Not all bars will fit the extra wires for the heated hand grips.

I installed Kromewerks 2+2 wide sweepers on my wife's 2006 Ultra. I needed a longer clutch, throttle and idler cable as well as longer a brake line. The Harley heated grips fit nicely.

There are plenty of bars out there that you can run without changing the brake or ABS line.
Like...WO578, WO577, Reapers 10-12", KST Mayhem 10-12", Monkey Bars 10-12", Road 6 customs 10-12, LA Choppers 10-13" and a bunch more.
Not all of these look great with stock lines, so check out this thread and all the pics etc.

What year is your Limited? If it's pre Rushmore 10"s is as tall as you can go. If it's a Rushmore model I believe you can go 12"s. Both will require relocation of cables to create enough slack.

Helibars worked for me. Totally adjustable for comfort. Not cheap though.
