Its called ANTI_SEIZE for a reason, Lock TIGHT for another and completely different reason. Two COMPLETELY different things used for the exact opposite purpose. Maybe, and this is just a suggestion here, you take it into to a shop and have it done for you. Some people just don't have the skills to do such work and its fine if you don't OP.

The anti-seize is to help keep the threads from seizing in the pipe should you ever need to remove them again. No need for loctite just get them really snug.

OK, here's one for you. I have a 2000 Dyna Wide-Glide - my first Harley. I'm replacing the pipes with Bassani Road Rage 2-into-1 pipes. The package arrives, and I pull out the instructions and start reading. The first step listed is to remove the O2 sensors from the old pipes. I look and ... NO O2 SENSORS! This bike has no O2 sensor. I check the user manual to be sure ... not mentioned anywhere. The Bassani pipes have ports to plug in the sensors, while the old pipes are solid - no sensor ports. Some other message board posts mention that, if you run without sensors, an autotuner is required. This bike doesn't appear to have that, either. So of course, I have questions:

1) Was the 2000 FXDWG built without O2 sensors? If so, how is the A/F mixture monitored ... if at all. If not, then apparently the previous owner has done some mods.
2) This bike has run fine, so apparently I don't need to concern my self with the lack of O2 sensors. But what do I do about the ports in the Bassanis? I guess I should just plug them, but I'd like to hear some opinions first.

if the bike is carb there are no 02 sensors. the pipe may come with plugs for the sensor holes if not you can pick some up.

I just put a fuel moto pipe on my bike an couldn't get one of the 02 sensors out an it was starting to deform. I tried heat from map gas, soaking it overnight in penetrating oil an a flair wrench to grip more flats an it wouldn't come out. luckily I had a set from a used pipe I bought but since I didn't know their history I wanted to use mine but guess what, it's still in the stock pipe.

so anti seize is recommended if removing the sensors to reinstall in another pipe.

There were no O2 sensors in 2000. I think they started using them in 06 or 07. If your bike is fuel injected then the ECM just uses throttle position and manifold pressure to calculate load and adjusts based on a calibration table. It doesn't look at the exhaust to do any fine tuning.
