One last question, will 18 gauge wires work on the throttle by wire? They look to be smaller.

If you don't want to deal with cutting and splicing there are plug and play extensions available for around $40 in just about any length you might need.

I just finished installing 12" apes on my 2008 FLHX. I used the Screamin Eagle part mentioned earlier IMHO well worth the money hands down. I just couldn't justify saving money when throttle control is at issue.

Thanks, After cutting the green plug out, the wiring harness was long enough. Got it all back together yesterday and bike ran great.
