Well I went for a longer ride today with the 4.5" foam blocks under my stock saddlebags. I've determind that scraping is pretty likely with the 4.5" stretch. It's seems I have to lay my bike over pretty good to make any contact which wouldnt happen daily but sooner or later I'd be pissed and looking to get a bag fixed. The catch is I was riding solo, it most likely would be a lot easier to scrape them with the wife on the bike with a load touring pack. I think I'm either going to stick with the vipers I already have or concider a 3" bag. The only problem I have with getting a set of top shop 3" bags is the price. If I'm going to only end up with a 3" bag the v twin cvo bags are a fraction of the price.
