I went in to get a Heritage Springer and left with a Road King. Wife and Salesman won the debate and now I'm glad I lost. However I'm using this a leverage for the 2nd bike...................................Well Honey, remember I didn't want the Road King so I'm not 100% happy, but there no reason to get rid of this bike since I won't get all of what I put in it. How does that sound?
I can give you the name of a good divorce lawyer or a great banker. [sm=signs003.gif]

go with the Ultra---you will save some $$$$ please don't ask me how I know

Well,
The dealer would not meet my expectation for a trade-in so I listed the Street Bob in the paper for the next three weekends. In the meantime, I had my mind set on this Mirage Orange Pearl Road Glide until we went to the dealer on Monday. It started like this.
"Honey do you want to go for a ride and then go out to dinner..Sure...Can we ride by the dealer first so I can show you the bike I am interested in."
When we walk in the dealer, she didn't even notice the RG, she saw the Black Pearl and Fire Red Pearl EGC. After talking to the salesman, she got to sit on it...Afterwards the salesman explained the difference in the Ultra and the EGC so then we had to go to the back to look at the Black Cherry Pearl Ultra that they had just gotten out of the crate. She had to climb on that one too...
Hmmm it looks like my next purchase may have been modified a bit. I guess that's what marriage is about and we all know "that if mama isn't happy, nobody is happy.....It is a great bike btw. We'll see..I could spend more on goodies if I went with the EGC though.

That sounds alot like my story,.... I went from a Dyna because I was looking for a bagger to give me long range comfort and the Mrs really liked all the extra creature comforts of the ultra and I thats when I knew with the Ultra that we would both be happy.

why not have the best of both? I do, I call it the Ultra-Harleybago. I added the King tourpack, intercom, rear speakers, sundowner seat, all for Mama. She is happy a a pig in S#it and I got the Roadglide I wanted.
Look twins, almost. Get the Road Glide and turn it into a "Ultra" Glide.

Happy? You mean your wives are happy at some point? ****.

BTW, buy the Ultra. With the EGC, you will just add on everything to make it an Ultra anyways. Will save you time and probally money just getting to best from the beginning. Just my $0.02. Also, how the heck do you keep the wives happy? After ten years of marriage, you would think I had it figured out. NOPE. Maybe in the next ten (if she doesn't leave my lazy @ss by then).

In response to above....

Married for 21 years this June. My wife is very happy. I bought what I wanted (2007 SG Black Cherry) and we are going to buy her whatever she wants very soon. Still trying to decide.

Was hanging out at the local hang in Port Jefferson and a couple rode in on a Nite Train and she got off bitching about the seat and just the ride in general.
Got to talking with them and she asked if my seat was uncomfortable as hers. Well I have the Air Zeppelin on my Ultra and I said no. In general the only bike to ride
is an Ultra. Well she wanted to see how my seat was. Woman got on and well I guess her husband probably thought thanks for the fxxxing guy. Sure enough in two weeks I saw them and they come riding in on brand new Ultra with a Zeppelin seat. [&:]
