Default A little tour pack help from those in the know

I bought this tour pack http://www.ebay.com/itm/111861963255...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT and this mount http://www.ebay.com/itm/172025926234...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT do I need the tour pak mount tube to install this? The hole do not line up they are about 1/2" off from the tour pack to the mounting plate. If anyone has used these please let me know what you did to install this. I am not interested in opinions on OEM vs. aftermarket. Thanks in advance.

Could you fab up some brackets? All you would need is a little flat stock and some paint. Should be super easy to do.

Using aftermarket parts from different manufacturers is a crapshoot. What year is your bike? Earlier ones use a different mount than current bikes.

The Ebay link you gave makes it clear you will need to drill new holes for your model year. That style of tourpak is similar to the older design that has been around since shovel days, so is bound to require some adaptation for a recent bike.

For some newer models, the holes might not match with the rack, need to drill new holes.

I copied this out of the EBAY ad. Think that sums it up..............

Yup, new holes for the 2 pieces to fit. You can get the plastic plugs @ your local DIY center to plug the extra holes.

Looks like he has a 2005 Electra Glide. The stuff he bought will work but he will need to drill new holes in the tourpak
