You get a brand new trailer with new tires, hub assemblies, flooring, frame, lighting.... etc. A rock guard is easy to add if needed. Granted, a nice enclosed is best if one can be found within his specs for added security and uses, but it's not always a gotta have or go without condition.

Trailers that are used within the quidelines are no more of failure risk than your tow vehicle.
Preventative maintenance is a wonderful thing. Makes trips more enjoyable.
Not familiar with Rural King... what is it and where do I find them?

Sorry, just assumed it was a national chain. Its a farm implement store, like Tractor Supply Co. Our TSC also has trailers. Might worth looking into

Thinking outside the box. Have wife drive the motorhome, and you drive the Harley.

Keep the $1,000 in your pocket :>)

Ok gang, I have been back and forth on this for weeks and here is where I am at... I will be going with the Harbor Freight trailer (1790 lb model). I will be re-enforcing the frame at various points to ensure stiffness and structure integrity. I will also be changing out the stock 12" 4 ply tires to 12" 6 ply tires. I will also add the bearing buddies to make life easier. This configuration I can tow behind the MH as wife drives car.

I would really like to hear from anyone that owns this trailer or the same size trailer to understand if there are any issues with the bike length. Mine is 96" long tip to tail and 65" wheel to wheel.

Thanks
