If your bike is a 2000 model, your mount won't look like this. Your kit will have a couple of V shaped pieces. Looks like this when assembled. http://www.haulenass.com/product/HA-LPLPM-001-01

Here's the conversion kit
Here's the mounting bracket on the bike.
Then you just mount your tour pak on the rack.

I have a detachable forward tour pak bracket in chrome like you're looking for. The only problem is it's cantilevered out so far it vibrated the girlfriends back so much she'd talk funny. I purchased the rear docking station to use a detachable rack along with a detachable backrest and ordered a rear mount for my tour pak.
The forward mount is for sale....

The mounting bracket (HD 4-point docking hardware) is separate and you'll need that specific year for your bike ('97-'08). There is an HD detachable conversion kit for your bike which has that mounting bracket and the tour pak mount rack - HD part # 53303-07.
