It shouldn't matter much on your height, but rather where your line of sight is in relation to the top of the shield. I have the stock height CV shield and my line of sight is just a smidge above. No buffeting at all for me on half or full helmet. My seat does sit a little forward from stock and I can feel the turbulence a couple or three inches above my helmet when I stick my hand above my helmet.

I do have the vent below the horizontal bar, but I use it more for ventilation. I have lowers as well, I don't notice any buffeting with or without it.

Either way, the Clearview shield is great quality. It's thick and no distortions even at the recurve.

Ok, placed an order for CV with a vent. Looking forward to trying it out!

Ditto here. Have had 6 of them. Top notch, and have NEVER had a problem or issue with any of them.......

Agreed on all the above. CV is the way to go.

I think you'll like it. They do have a try-before-you-buy deal. You can install the shield (do not remove the covering though) and test it. If you don't like it, just send it back for a refund. You can call CV and ask them.

Any issues with the shields being made from acrylic? There is a youtube video comparing poly to acrylic and the acrylic looks pretty unsafe.

Polycarbonate is very durable and will withstand impact. Acrylic will break and some of the cheaper ones will shatter. I think that Youtube says it all. The better makers use poly, like Clearview.

Clearview uses acrylic according to their site:
"Premium High Impact Acrylic Blend Material Exceeds Industry & DOT Standards"

Funny...they had poly in their descriptions when I ordered about 3 years ago. Not sure when they changed over. Could give 'em a call and find out the differences in that 'blend' material.

I know my bank uses those bullet-proof acrylic barriers.

I picked up a used one and agree with everyone that it's great. To help with buffeting, try opening the vent one or two notches, (or just about a quarter of the way). I find it helps the air flow over the helmet. I actually experimented with this on highway speeds and find the air deflects better with it slightly open. Maybe it's me, but try anyways.
