Default Street Glide Brake upgrade

This weekend I was playing around with some crotch rockets in traffic, and even though my brakes work good I was wondering if their maybe a viable upgrade option. I have a 2012 street glide w/abs. Thank you for any advice.

Performance Machine 6 piston calipers if you think you need to stop quicker...

I think you are limited to 1 6piston caliper, although I'm not certain, due to amount of fluid needed to pressurize 12 Pistons in a dual set up. Maybe there is a m/c that would work with dual 6 Pistons. I wouldn't think 6 Pistons would be an upgrade over 8.

Is your SG a Rushmore? If yours has Apex linked anti-skid brakes that's all the brakes you will ever need. I would not mess with that system. It's smarter than you can be.

Naturally when a bike weighs 200-300 lbs less then a Street Glide,it going to feel as if the brakes are better.Add the difference in weight and then check the stopping distance.

Brembo's are some of the very best engineered brakes in the world. You can possibly do a little better but not by very much. Try some EBC or Lyndell pads. You'll notice a big difference over the stockers.

Mind if I ask which EBC or Lyndell ceramic pads you used? My Thunderbird has EBC Red Stuff ceramics and they are very good on an automobile.

I personally don't find Lyndall pads as good as the oem Brembo pad.

I agree... the brembo pads are darned good...they have pretty much nailed the balance between performance and durability.
