I had a one-piece rain suit from tour master. Not sure if I didn't get the zipper flap closed or what, but 1st good rain storm it leaked. I was at a road side stop when the sun came out, took off the suit and it looked like I had wet my pants! I had a 5" wide wet streak from my chest right down to my crotch!

I bought a Harley 2-piece suit. It was black with white reflective tape all over it.... Been caught in two really good storms since then and it kept me bone dry!

I like the versatility of the two piece suits..... I can wear the top as a windbreaker or rain jacket when off the bike.....

Nope. That's not the one. It is HD's premium suit that gets all the raves. I have one and it is the best rain gear I've ever had, but it sure is damn pricey! With tax you'll be laying out about $300!

I've had plenty of rains suits over the years. The HD ones are nice, but over the summer I went costumed ordered jacket and pants from Motoport. USA made with a material like Gore-Tex, breathable (still warm though but better than regular rain gear.) I do suggest you ask for a 8" by 10" heat proof patch on the insde of each leg, pant material is not heat proof and will melt on your pipes without the Kevlar patch. Lots of color choices for the jacket.

Good Luck

And besides, it's so much fun playing dress up in the store.

BTW, my wife and I both have that rain suit and we use the jackets whenever it rains. They get so much use off the bike I have to make a special effort to remember to pack them when we do take a ride. She has the orange and I went with the yellow. I hate dressing like twins.

I have the Hi Vis suit. If you want it to go over leather jackets and such, you'll need to buy a bigger size. They are not sized like they are going over thick jackets. I went one size larger than I normally wear and it works out well. It also makes it more comfortable sitting on the bike with pants a little bigger.

They do work well keeping the water out. I only had one small issue riding for over an hour in a down pour. I got a little wet and so did the other riders in the group that had the same suit. But to be honest, it was raining so hard that we had no business on the road anyway. So with a little common sense, you should stay very dry.

I have this rain gear for 2 yrs now. I have got caught in a couple heavy rains along with some day long misty rains. I never had a leak issue except around the neck area when it drips down off the helmet.

One bit of advice. Even if your usual size looks nice in the store, a bigger size will be way easier to put on on the side of the road.

Thanks for all the input guys, didn't end up buying one. The local dealer only had the old ones there with 3 strips of reflective stripes across the jacket, and had them priced about 10% higher than what's listed on the HD website.

First of all, I won't buy into to the stupid games they are playing with a so called "sale" (20% off of an inflated price) and second, if I am going to pay that much $ for a rain suit, I want the newest one on the market.

Only 1 of my gift cards is specific to this dealer, so I will just order my matching tourpak lock, and get oil change supplies with the rest. I'll go to a different dealer next time they have a sale to get the rain suit I want.

We have a few dealers around here like that. I print off the harley web pages before I go in and get them to honer HD's price. I ignore the so called sales.
