Brake Light only wire? 2016 Road Glide
Hey all I am trying to figure our where I can get a brake light only 12v source. Currently I am tapped into the Right Rear Blinker which causes all my LED's to go red when I stop or when my right blinker is on lol.
Thx

HD has used a red wire with yellow stripe for brake light.
on most models this is available at the ACC plug so you don;t have to splice or cut into wiring if that scares you

Hmmm the red wire with Yellow in the the rear wire harness has constant 12v to it for some reason. I plugged into that one first after looking at some wiring diagrams

acc plug pin out for most year models ( confirm this yourself) is:
pin 1- Orange Red- P&A circuit
Pin 2 - Red/Yellow- Brake light
Pin 3 - Orange- Acc switched
Pin 4 - Black- Ground
I'm working from older model wiring diagrams

I know that's true on my '12, but is that also true on the Canbus bikes?

Just checked the 2015 Touring service manual that is the color for the brake light output.

Start at the brake light and trace it back to where you can access it.
They usually go from the light through the fender, inside the fender and comes out under the seat where it joins the main harness. Also, as mentioned above, the ACC connection is wired with a brake only line.
