What is TBW....is it through the bar wiring?

I'm considering white grips as well but have through the bar wiring on my 08 RKC with burly beach bars
TBW is Throttle By Wire. You bike MIGHT have that, can't remember the first year of it, but 2008 might just be it. And by coincidence, the tbw does run thru the bars.

Cleaning hasn't been too bad so far. Once a week they get the bleach white and armour all treatment. Not sure I'd ever do the floorboards and pedals in white, but it sure looks awesome on the blue/white FLHR.

About TBW ... the Touring line got TBW for the 2008 model year and newer. Some guys hated it when it first came out. I'm ambivalent except for the extra time and trouble it takes to change bars now. Kind of a pain in the azz.

Just saw a 2013 dark blue with white highlight Heritage Softtail. It had a white seat, white grips, white kicker and wide white tires. The owner just purchased it so he knows nothing about the whiting out of it. It actually looked really sharp. Of course I didn't have my phone with me so I'm sorry I didn't snap a pic.

I have an 08 RKC with Burly Beach Bars with threw the bar wiring and would like white grips
I went to my local HD dealer twice the first time the parts guy said it could be done, went back a couple of weeks later talked to a parts guy he said no, obvious they don't know

any advice would be helpful
anyone may chime in on this as well
many thanks
Tim

If the 2008 RK is TBW, and I believe it is, a grip change is literally a five-minute job. I didn't even have time to smoke a cigarette. The part number you want is ... 56100104.

2008 is first year for TBW. 2007 is last year for throttle cables. 2008 is also first year for 6 gallon tanks and IDS on the old frame.
