Here is what Harley says you need to add security to your bike. http://www.harley-davidson.com/store...12-41000087--1 I doubt very much that you only need the FOBs,

Factory security system on that bike was optional. If the bike had the security system then you'd need the fobs to start the bike without using a PIN. Since you don't appear to need a fob to start your bike, I'd assume it has no security system, and therefore no fobs. You can't simply purchase the fobs, you'd need to purchase the security system from an HD dealer.

Yes the scoot starts ok. I notice on radio (not by bike now) i have a message saying EICM disabled. Not sure if this is related. Still learning the bike, way more gadgets than my 06 had.this is on same screen that my air temp and oil pressure are on.

Are you sure it not saying EITMS disabled? If so, is not related to the security system.

I thought all touring bikes are set up with the basic security, what I mean by this, all touring bikes will require the fob to start or you would need to use your pin to start the bike.

I know most do not come with the siren alarm.

Question to OP, so are you saying they just gave you a barrel key for the ignition and saddle bags, if so that does not sound right.

Now unless for some reason the module was completely removed, which would not make sense, how do you put the bike in travel mode.

If your new bike didn't come w/factory security...I'd recommend this route: http://www.digitalguarddawg.com/

i wonder how much MoCo saves by omitting the security on the regular SG and RG. I think i've maybe locked my ignition once on my softail and never on my SGS.

As mentioned, security was an "option" for the regular Street Glide.
If you don't have it, just buying the FOBs will do nothing for you.

In this case, your Indy told you wrong.

You will need to add the security module kit, which comes with the FOBs
