Default Chrome part or chrome cover??

Looking to add more chrome the the bike when I paint it a custom color. I see that Harley, as well as other companies, have chrome parts and chrome covers or trim. For instance, inner primary. Harley has a chrome inner primary that requires a bit of work more work to install than the trim. They offer a chrome Inner Primary Cover Trim-60885-10 and a chrome Chrome Inner Primary Cover-60739-07

Question is: Is the extra money worth it for the chrome piece vs the cover trim? OR is the trim just as good looking with no issues?

I have the chrome cover piece. it looks good and is easy to install but I noticed that after a couple years the chrome started to bubble in one area.. ill get the chrome inner primary next time as money allows for me.

So it doesn't look weird like it isn't part of the primary? I have always hated Kuryakin products because they look like covers. The fit and finish just doesn't look good.

it looks good yes and I get a lot of complements on it. But since its not triple chrome plated like the Harley inner primary is, it is not lasting like it should and I keep it very clean too (up to a point)

I'd always choose the actual chrome part over a cover.
Covers look cheap to me, but to each their own.

If you want chrome, buy a new chrome part or have it plated. IMHO, they are cheesy. I wonder how much engine heat they don't allow to escape. Just my 2 cents.

I am NOT a fan of covers. They just don't look as good as the chrome part.

Get the chrome part. Covers are just a cheap shortcut, & I could never see adding on more weight.

I'll let the pics speak for themselves. The only chrome cover is over the starter. The last pic shows the chrome brackets for the bags I had done.

It's always nice to have a few chrome pieces. As others have said, go with parts.
