Need new seat for 6'2" rider
Hello all,
My gf and i just purchased our first HD. 2003 Ultra Classic. We love it so far, but we would like to get a new seat.
The previous owner took off the tour pak and lower fairings and added an aftermarket one piece seat that has a very small "back" passenger seat area. Not comfortable for riders at all, especially on long trips.
What are some recommendations for seats for a tall rider? I would rather not be pushed forward any further, or higher. We may put the tour pak back on or get a passenger back rest.
See attached picture of the bike

If your girl is only slightly unhappy with the seat padding, a streetglide seat may suit you both- you'd need the version for 2007 and earlier bikes to fit your frame.
alot of us have sleek seats for around town or solo and swap to a electraglide seat when the tourpak goes on ( again 2007 or earlier). this seat will raise you up a bit ( more padding) and bring you forward...but I'm same height as you and that the seat I use for 10 hour days
any of the stock seats are cheap..like $100
many of the riders here are happy with seats modified by mean cycle cycles..other than that there are all the various aftermarket seats...you'd do best on cost to shop your craigslist and be able to sit on it

If that is the seat you are asking Ms gf to ride on then shame on you! Darned thing isn't fit for any passenger especially one you're fond of! You should be able to find a stock Electra Glide seat on Ebay or Craigs as a starter, then work things out from there. This is a possibility, on Ebay: #172021612363, or #181953730847. Don't ask your gf to sit on anything less......

If you're looking for a touring seat with a big pad for the lady, an HD TallBoy seat is a good start. Sits you back further than regular touring type seats and give her a big puffy cushion.

But you have to realize just about every seat is going to move you up and forward compared to that strip of leather you currently have sitting on the bike.

I am only 6'1" but have always felt a little cramped on my Ultras. I have sat on and looked at several aftermarket seats over the years but never changed from OEM.
I bought the kit and moved my floorboards out 3/4" and changed my brake arm to the lower style which helped slightly. I take my lowers off for part of the year and that allows me to move my feet slightly forward, but not much.
The thing that lets me stretch more is my highway pegs are mounted low, almost the same level as my floorboards which lets me put my boot toe on them and keep my heel on the floor board.

Street glide seat
I just bought a 2004 ultra. The stock seat had me too high and too close to the bars. I'm 6-1. Picked up a nice 2006 street glide take off seat at a local biker consignment shop for a hundred bucks. Big improvement. Sitting lower and further back and it still has a decent passenger area, not that it matters to me, I ride solo. It's a nice lookin seat too IMO. Moving your hi way pegs way down is a good move too for stretching out a bit more.
