Default CVO mufflers with no baffles?

Has anyone run thier CVO mufflers with the baffles removed? How do they sound? I know they would be loud but are they tinny or ehco?

Consider that supertrapp ( hey, an Ohio company) suggest that removing baffles ( or packing) from their pipes may reduce power.

with a suddenly larger exhaust tract, the gasses will slow- they may eddy and even reverse
all bad for performance.

I went through 'speriments like this when someone gave me a stinger type 2/1 with no baffle for my BMW... power gains at 8000 rpms !
huge power losses at 2000 and 3000...I had to rev like crap and slip the clutch to leave a light.
That was a fun weekend.

If the baffles come out of the CVO's easy I suggest you give it a quick try and see how it works out.
if you have a cat or not will really effect the end result

for sound quality the packing affects mostly the high end frequencies..same as holding up you hand between your ear and the source of a sound will mostly block the high end sounds, yet the lower frequencies are less affected by your hand.

Full Sac makes replacement packing and baffle kits for these mufflers. Has really good reviews and following.

Do not believe that just gutting the CVO mufflers will give you neither the sound or performance you are hoping for.

Internet is full of sound bites with these modifications.

I have the Fullsac 2.25 baffles in my CVO mufflers. I love the sound & they tune very well with the TTS. These baffles are made specifically for these mufflers, they fit great. Check out the Fullsac website!

Without baffles they sound like ***. And not the pretty 21 year old in a bikini kind....

More like the Rosie O'Donnell-too-many-bon-bon kind.

I have the Fullsac 2'' baffle and no packing in my CVO mufflers. People tell me it sounds great. Did the 2 1/4'' Fullsac baffles without packing and it was just too loud at 70+ mph for me. Uphill was pretty loud too. Hope this helps.

I heard the 2" and 1 3/4" are pretty close to the same as far as sound and power. They 2 1/2" they say you loose a little low end power and are quite loud.

I Run the same setup. Nice and deep with good power but not to loud. The 2" baffles are supposed to give the best power also.

Have the 2" Fullsac with the sleeves. Very happy with it and noise level is not objectionable to me. I like to hear the radio.

No baffles = no back pressure, no exhaust gas velocity. Will sound like crap and not perform well at all.
