Default Cruise Control Shutting Off

I have a 2001 Road Glide. I can set the Cruise Control and ride for a bit with it on and all of a sudden it shuts off. I don't think it is in any of the safety shut off switches because it will not Resume, I have to Set it. After I have Set it, it will go for a short distance again and shut off. Any suggestions?

What speed are you going for cruise? I belive, if memory serves .... 35mph is the lowest speed for cruise. Course I wouldn't recommend 35 as it could be possible if you have it set at that low of a speed ... going up inclines could temporarily drop it down below 35 and auto-shut it off?

Mine did the same thing. I took it to the dealer and it wouldn't do it fot them and it has never done it again. I guess you need to threaten your bike to shape up or else.

It doesn't matter what speed. It does it at any speed from 35 to 85..........

Right, mine was doing the same thing. I would set it, and go down the freeway and it would turn off and I'd start todecel.

It completely shuts off? or just disengages...Mine used to disengage....it turned out that my front brake lever was out of adjustment and when the wind caught it it pushed the lever in just enough to have the cruise disengage...

Yep that's it. Try to Resume and it won't do anything, it will Set and go a little further and turn off again. If I shut it off with one of the safety switches the resume will work fine.

I thought it might be the same as yours but, if it were the brake, when I hit the Resume it should work, it doesn't.
