Open belt drive primary? Good/bad on a tourer?
Considering a open belt primary drive for my 15 RoadGlide.
Had one on a old 72 FL frame with a Panhead several years ago.
It was quiet, smooth and just plane cool.
Several companys make them, just wondering how that would work on a touring bike.
Any and all input greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your time,

You probably also remember having torn up jeans too.
If your touring bike is for long distances, don't do it. If you are building a custom bike, anything goes.
There are also 1 1/2" belts that fit inside the primary if you are wanting to do away with the chain, tensioner and compensator system. They need a ventilated primary cover to remain cool, but would give you the function w/o the style.
