ditto on the digital vs analog guages
with needles you don't have to know the number, you just see the needle is where it is supposed to be. Racers will put the guages in so the needles point up when they are where they are supposed to be, so when they look at the guage cluster all they need to see is needles straight up to know things are good.

Good tip on the guages. I think I'll not run them if they are having problems. I also realized after posting this that a lot of other indicators won't work if I swap them (security light, check engine etc..) Thanks everyone.
