Chief21.....they got back to be but don't do anything with HD speedo's....I am waiting to here back from one other company....If NG I'll dump it...

 

Off topic slightly, but if you change a speedo in say a 2002 bike, does it pickup the mileage from the ECU ?

I am going to say NO! In my case we needed a working speedo with milage to do the download - I was under the impression it came from the ecm but HD said its taken from the speedo - since my original speedo was Kaupt I couldn't do the download from the data port...I would have thought with no speedo in pace you could just plug into the port and do the download and marriage.

 

Was wandering if you had any luck with getting your speedo rebuilt ???? On mine the trip metor has quit working on my old cable driven speedo it is only one year old with 4000 miles on it and no warranty ... Look forward to your reply !!!!!!!!!!

 

No! I had a 50/50 chance the guy in Calif could fix and he told me its probably was worth doing - cost wise - he was willing to try but guarantee.

Cable type should be easy due to gear drive.....good luck!
