I apologize for upsetting folks for asking a question. I did do some research prior to asking and I bought my first bike 2 months ago. Thanks for the help.

I was being a jerk, looks like you got a nice bike. But it is a little concerning that you don't know what you and your love one is riding. This is a great forum to ask and learn but it no substitute for a service manual and regular inspection of the bike.

I learned to ride in the 80's on a Harley off rode bike of my grandfathers and he always had a couple old harleys. I always wanted one, but I've just now got the time and money to finally buy one. I was an aircraft mechanic and understand mechanics, so I really wanted an flh shovelhead. I like the older look of the road king, so that is why the choice. I looked for three years before pulling the trigger. Just wasn't sure about the lever and it came to mind while at the office and the bike being 60 miles away at home. Figured, why not ask on here.

BTW - What size holes did you drill out your exhaust and belt guard to on the 48?
The bike is an 09 883 i have not put much $ into it. You can drill the mufflers out to 3/4" max and a K&N filter with out having to get a tuner! If you go look at a 48 belt guard the holes are spaced so as not to drill through the mounting brackets, i drilled and reamed the holes 7/8". The step bits and extension are from harbor freight, don't remember where i got the reamer.
