Default Removable tour pak questions

I am wanting to mount a tour pak on my 2005 Electra glide I want it detachable because I will only have it on a couple times a year. I do not want the crap hanging off the back of my bike, I have ager market fillers between the fender and the bags with no holes for the factory docking hardware. I know there was a mount that used the sissy bar mounts but I can not find it. Could some one point me in the right direction? I found one from fat baggers but it looked like it was rather low, meaning the tour pack didn't look like it would sit up high enough to open the bags. This is what I am thinking but it looks like it will not sit high enough to clear when opening the bags. http://www.ebay.com/itm/181874606625...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

this is the one i have on my bike. you do have to space the mounting spools out a little.

Are you able to open and close the bags OK? Also does the passenger backrest come to the middle of there back? Asking because this is more for my wife and her comfort. Thank you for the fast reply.

The bags open just fine. The backrest will depend on your tour back, backrest, and seat. with this mount you will have to move your license plate.

Just be careful.....you are talking about a 2005 Electra versus a 2013.... Tire and fenders are different sizes.......yes you can find the sissy bar docking hardware...go to a HD dealer and look for the hardware for a the RK tour pak....that is exactly what I use to put my tour pak 3 times a year when I need it.....I use the sissy bar docking hardware....I even bought the adapter so that I can have my tour pak as a solo rider....moves the tour pack forward....

It can be done....

He can't use that rack because he has fender fillers. The one in my link is for 1996-2008 baggers.

thanks for all the input. It would be easy if I didn't have the fillers.

I purchased the fat baggers rack and I used it with a Mutazu king tour pak. It mounted to the sissy bar docking points and seemed plenty sturdy. I know FBI says that the mount isn't for the king pak, but I inquired and they said it can work, they were just concerned with failure if someone loaded it all up and loaded the rack up too. I had no rack, and didn't intend to get one and loaded it up so it was fine for me. Clearance for bags was good and quality was top notch. They send you some replacement metal bushings to replace the rubber ones on the current docking kit. Rode about 5000 miles with it loaded up inside and never had any sign of issue. I sold the bike and bought and Ultra now, but I was happy with that setup.
