"I don't want to have to partially pull my tank and start splicing wires."
HUH ? ? ?
All I did was loosen two nuts, one at the neck and the other where the front
of the seat hides one. That was to RAISE the tank enough to fish the few wires
through. Personally I found it pretty straight forward and easy.

Thanks. And you didn't need to splice the existing horn wires to the wires for the new relay? I heard other say they did and others thought it might have only been for older bikes.

I can check tonight to make sure but if I remember right.
One wire to the battery & one wire to ground for the relay - EASY
Then remove old horn & disconnect wires from it - EASY
Run wires from relay to horn - EASY
Connect wires to horn - EASY
Press horn button to make sure it works - EASY
Remember to not have head near horn when doing last step - Not Smart ;-)
I'll be installing my Mini-Beast onmy 07 in my avatar tomorrow.

Are you splicing these wires together at the horn or is just a plug and play thing?

Forget everything I said. I feel like a dufus and hopefully didn't steer anyone down the wrong path. The HD instructions were right on the money and even though I read over it a few times it wasn't sticking with me. Finally got it hooked up right.

Don't let this scare you away from putting it on your bike. Just follow the instructions to the T.

Just to throw in my $.02...I installed mine about a year ago, and the only prob that I had was getting the rubber vib damper off...rubber sheared right in half and had to use vice grips to get the thing loose. Other assebly was a breeze, including the wire splicing. Loosened the tank, slipped the wires in, and wired it directly to the battery. Packing the relay in is tight, but it all fits, and it is definitely loud!! (BTW, I did leave off the air inlet tubing, butthe inletis essentially out of the elements anyway, and have had 0 problems so far.)

HD directions are no more than kindling. I have tried in good faith to use their directions. Over and over they are wrong, misleading, and time wasting.

Throw them away as soon as you open the box, find an Orangutan (like every which way but loose) give him a pen and paper, and you have just upgraded the directions from HD.
