Default Another alternative to Harley Daymaker LED

On my 2010 Ultra Limited I run the Truck-lite setup. However, I ran across Eagle Daymaker kt for our bikes. At $500 for the complete kit or about $140 just for the headlight, lot cheaper than the Harley setup and the headlight alone is cheaper than most sources for the Truck-lite.

Has anyone tried these. Did some searching through the forum and found no reference to them.

I couldn't find the lumen output on them. Must be another Chinese knock off

Headlight produces a 1750 Lumen high beam and 1350 Lumen low beam. The color temperature is 6500K, similar to the color of daylight.

You don't like the Truck-lite? It's a really good light.

Guess I didn't poke around long enough. I guess my only thing with these led head lights is if you are on the road and one dies what do you do. We use led's at work and while the are supposed to last they some times do fail?

never thought of that..... but then if you use the stock headlight you have to carry around and extra bulb. i haven't heard of any led lights going yet though.

If you have three lights up front and one fails you still have two lights! I have several bikes and don't recall when I last had a light fail on any of them. None of us would leave town if we got worried about what might happen just down the road.....

I learned my lesson on cheap aftermarket lights years ago. I bought a set of replacement headlamps from LMC trucks for my '98 and where junk. The light output from the reflector was bad and the plastics tabs broke off within a year. I trust Trucklite and JWSpeaker and that's about it.

I hear what you're saying. My point was that when i go on a road trip i carry a spare h4 and passing lamps. I can have a replacement installed in minutes and replenish the spare at the next parts store. If your 700-1000 miles from home makes something simple difficult. I agree that nobody would leave the house if they over thought things.

The reliability with the oem lamps i would have more faith in. Still probably made in. China but under stricter quality control than a knock off. These ebay chinese specials are the ones that i question.

I have to remind my mother every time she comes to visit that I don't live in Antarctica... even though she lives 1200 miles away.

There are stores, and amazingly, Dealers, everywhere.

If you can buy it by your house, there's a pretty good chance I can buy it by my house.

The good thing about having 3 lights up front is there is a slim chance of all 3.. well 4 if you count high beams, going out at the same time.

But by all means, if you're more comfortable with the H4's, run them.
