Default MAN OH MAN ( help with this seat).

Bought a 07 street glide. We decided to try out the sundowner seat. My girlfriend loves it but it dam near kills my innet thighs and butt bone's. Im 6FT2 215. I notice I slip down the seat a lot. WTH is up with that ? And it seems theres not enough room and im almost sitting on the gas tank. I took a look at the Ultraclassic and the seat goes almost half way up the seat. Whats up with that ? Is Harley sacred to build a bike a little longer or what ?

At any rate , I know theres others that have been through what im experiencing now. I have to stop about every 100 miles and walk around or I will cramp up so bad I cant hardly ride. Are there other seats that will fit the FLHX and are more comfortable ? The sundowner just wont do the trick (for me). Thanks for the advice.

07 SG, 6' 1" 220lb I have the Mustang sport touring 2 up and love it. Lot of padding by your tail
bone and lower back. Fits perfect when you put your legs down when stopped and well padded for passenger. I can do 5 to 600 mi. in comfort. It does set you close to the tank but then so did the stock seat in my opinion.

Has there been anyone to do the memory pad and jel install both together ? Thought if I could find someone that had it done, it would make me feel more comfortable about it.

IfI can borrow a seat from one of my Buds, I'm going to go with the Double Decker Memory Foam Modification from Allen.

I'm 6'4" and 260lbs and this is my 3rd HD with a Sundowner Seat... I Like em' - have done a couple of Iron Butts with the Ol' Putt and was looking forward to doin' the same with this one...

But must agree with Most everyone... Have heard some GREAT things from Mean City Cycles... Because it your Butts killin' ya in 100-200 then the rest of the day isn't worth ridin'

Dont waste your money on gel pads...they suck and are way over priced plus a rule of thumb is you never put something firm on something soft which is what you do with gel pads.

I just finished a Iron butt with my stock seat and a gel pad and a cushion from aqua air . the gel pad isn't any better than the stock seat . But the aqua air cushion was great !! But now I have a road zeppelin on order becuase I hate to sit on something that is siting on top of my seat
