Temps really don't matter to me.....I ride until ice starts to come around and salt is tossed all over the place.

I ride every Sunday if the roads are dry - doesn't matter how cold it is. Rode to New Buffalo for lunch last Saturday. Left with 38* and returned with 51*. Being sunny makes a world of difference.

For all you riders that don't ride when the salt comes out, get some S100 Corrosion Protectant and spray all the metal parts(except rotors) and you're good to go. I've been using it for almost 10 years and you will have a hard time finding any rust or corrosion anywhere. Bike looks like it just came off the dealers floor. Lately I have been sluffing off a bit - I'd rather be riding then cleaning. I do a deep clean/wax in April and November (before and after winter). In the summer just a quick wash once in a while. No cleaning in the winter.
I think salt is just an excuse for not riding because it's too cold and don't want to admit it.

Grand Dragon, yes, I'll admit it - I would rather ride in 60* to 75* temps, but for me I don't have that luxury. I'd rather ride in the cold then 90*+ temps.
When people ask me why I ride in the winter, I tell them "I'm not paying $32K for a vehicle and then store it for 5 months every year. That's crazy.

I did the February Cotona Midnight Run a few years ago and it was 12 degrees. I will ride during the day no mater the temperature, just not on the back roads that tend to be less maintained. I have not used my heated gloves in 2 years since I got heated grips.
