Default Can I lower an RK Custom?

Guys, I know the FLHRS is lower than the regular king but I was wondering if it can be lowered further (front, rear, both?)
and if so how can it be done without spending a fortune- or can it be? Thanks!

Yep, They can be lowered front and rear. Becareful not to go too low or it will bottom out. But it can be done, I've done it to a Road King Custom and both Street glides.

I'm sorry, You wanted to know how didn't you ? Front end lowering kit. About $100 plus labor.
The rear you can either do a lowering kit or shorter shocks. I think the shorter shocks work better. Progressive makes good shocks for that bike about 11 1/2 inches works pretty good.

The rear is already lowered & you can't lower it too much more without running into fender interference.

The forks can be lowered an inch or so with no problems, I lowered the forks 1" on this bike

Progressive does make 11.5" shocks, but that only lowers the bike a hair from the stock 12" shocks & is hardly worth the money.

Been thinking about lowering my SG. I like the idea of the Progessive 440's (1" lower than stock) and a 1" lowering kit from HD on the front.

Can anyone tell me what this combo might work well together?Like the RCC, the SG already come lower in the rear?

The SG already has the 1" lower than stock rear shocks, SG's & RK Custom'scome with12" shocks & most other baggers come with 13" shocks.

Progressive makes a 1" fork lowering kit that works well in these bikes.

For what it's worth. I did the 1" lower springs on my SG when I put the black forks on it. It feels so much better then my RKC.

Someone in the forum posted some time ago about lowering their bike (either a SG or Custom) and they had some rubbing problems when they rode double.

Here is a photo of my lowered Custom with no bags. The rear is lowered 1" withlowering blocks (you can see them in the photo) and Legend Air Ride shocks. It is lowered all the way in this photo. You can't ride it like this as it will bottom out but looks good parked. The air ride system can be adjusted for height and air pressure to suit riding conditions. The front is lowered with the HD Profile Lowering kit (1") and the fender is dropped 1" to restore the distance between the fender and the bottom of the tripple trees.
