Default Oil pressure gauge at 60

I noticed riding last night that my gauge was pegged at 60, at idle it would jump from 50 to 60 nothing less. Just changed the fluids 2 weeks ago and level is good.. This morning I went out to want it up to see where it's at, as soon as I turn the switch to run it jumps to 60. Oil light is workin and everything else seems fine.. Rode 200 miles yesterday with no issue.. Any ideas guys?

If its a stock oil pressure gauge its electric so since its showing 50-60psi when you turn in ign sw without motor running yet i'd check to ensure connections are tight & clean on connectors on sending unit on motor block and on back of gauge in faring too.

Also chk to ensure there are no pinched & or shorted wires too.

If all that checks out ok then either sending unit or gauge is NG in which case i'd use factory shop / srv'c manual for test procedure to determine which is bad.

Easiest problem is that it is a bad sending unit, gauge (PIA to change) or connection. The only real way to tell is to put on a mechanical gauge to see what the PSI really is.

Mine was acting funky off and on and turned out to be a loose wire at the back of the gauge.

+1 on wire for sending unit. Mine was at the unit itself not at the gauge.

More than likely electrical problem. Not likely pressure regulating/relief valve, if it shows pressure when ignition is on but engine not running. Might just be moisture at terminals.

Could be a good possibility, I've had my fairing off many times. I'll report back when I get home and have a chance to look at it
