So cal: Dealer recommendations for 2015 clutch and saddle bag recall service
Hello all,
Wanted to ask if any fellow members have suggestions for any dealers where they were extremely happy getting their clutch and saddle bag recalls remediated? I'm located in the Los Angeles area and was considering getting it done at Laidlaw or Glendale Harley because of proximity, but I wouldn't mind venturing out further if there are more reputable service centers. It'd be great to hear about your opinions or tips (any service writers I should avoid, any special requests I should make, etc). Only want the best for the beast!
Thanks in advance!

my info is outdated as i no longer live in LA.
Bartels was my go-to.
they were close to me and stocked everything- and were involved not only in chrome geegaw customs for the scenesters, but also performance work.
For years after i moved to AZ I continued to buy parts from Bartels because they always had stuff in stock- they didn;t need to order each and every little piece ( like my local dealer)
Glendale has always had a good rep based on the owners character.
Laidlaw i don;t like as they didn;t hold up their end of a deal on a new bike- so I walked.
this is a good chance for you to 'audition' service departments and see how they treat you and how they treat your bike when HD is picking up the bill.
call a couple of the service depts and see how they treat you on the phone

Here's a recommendation for you....
I had my '77 FXS serviced at Bartel's. When it got stolen, I bought an '80 FXS from Bartel's and they did my service until I moved to San Diego in the fall of 1980....
They were excellent, especially the service dept. .... but that was 35 years ago.....
Just tryin to help
