Default RE: when do you check yor PSI in your shocks?

I cleaned my bike yesterday and took off the Saddle Bags. I saw the rear valve on theleft side and it had 6 lbs. I brought it up to 15, mostly ride solo. Where is the front valve and do you need to take the bags off everytime you check it?

thanks

On my 1998 models....I might check once a month, if that. When my wife and I take a longer/extended ride....then I will usually pump some air into it.

Or earlier...if I notice a decrease in stability or irregular handling.

I asked the same question about the front air shock pressure adjustment when I took delivery of the '07 EGC. I got a real strange what the heck are ya' talkin' about look and was told there is none.

I guess they did away with the adjustable air front shock on the Electra Glides a few years ago. The crash bars were used as an air reservoir with a valve that shut to the front shocks as an anti-dive feature on quick stops - nice setup. The front schrader valve was located under a screw off end cap on the left hand grip.

You can get to the rear valve byopening the left bag lid.

when I feel it get a little 'soft'. I too run roughly 25lbs in my rear-shocks. I like a little stiffer ride. Wife doesn't mind either when we are 2-up.
